DESIGNER'S ROLE

Below is an over-arching summary of our Interior Design process. This list is not exhaustive and will be further defined upon the development of the project scope based on the client’s needs.


Preliminary

  • Initial consult - walk-through of the space, discussion on goals, style, and budget, photos, basic measurements
  • Project scope, contractor/designer roles defined, preliminary drawings, conceptual development
  • Contact contractors / trades for pricing, if required


Execution

  • Retainer due, typically 10% of anticipated total designer fee
  • Project research, site analysis, schedule hazardous materials testing, if required
  • Creative direction defined and design streamlined, conceptual sketches or renderings if requested (additional fee may apply)
  • Finalizing budgets, gathering quotes from trades/contractors, meeting with trades/contractors to review scope and budget
  • Ensure appropriate permits are pulled via trades/contractor
  • Precise project measurements for plans and drawings (existing floor plan, demo, partition, RCP) and other plans and drawings as needed


During

  • Sourcing materials via contractor preferred trades and design concept
  • Site visits, contractor/trades supervision, confirming measurements and installation of key elements upon arrival (millwork, windows etc…)
  • Additional estimates as needed
  • Ordering furniture, fixtures, and equipment including millwork, lighting, flooring etc…
  • Design millwork (kitchen, reception areas etc…) independently or work with trades on design
  • Meet with suppliers, clients, and trades as needed


Post

  • Furniture and decorative elements added
  • Deficiencies walk-thru with client, ensure deficiencies are addressed
  • Meet with trades/contractors to discuss overall project
  • Final project survey with clients


FEE SCHEDULE

Standard Rates

Based on selected services

Mileage

Standard hourly rate outside of Kamloops, plus $0.85 per kilometre

Administration Fees

Cost plus 10-20%

Designer discount often exceeds markup, saving you money

Retainer

Minimum 10%-50% of anticipated designer fee for full project

Late Fees

15% weekly on overdue accounts

Other

Projects with budgets over $10,000 may be negotiated as a deliverable rate with hourly fees applied to services outside of contractual obligations. To be determined at time of consultation.

Fees are subject to change and may be adjusted to reflect project scope. Work completed outside of contracted services will be billed at the hourly rate
